What I’m Watching:

I’ve been watching 13 Reason Why Season 2 on Netflix, I’m up to episode 8. I actually don’t really think that this season is very necessary, I would’ve been fine with only one season. This season is pretty good, and I’m enjoying it, but wouldn’t have really cared either way, whether we got a season two or not. I really love the voice overs throughout the episodes from each of the characters though.

Who else is Watching this?

The Sunday Post #42: Happy Mother’s Day – 13/05/2018

What I’m Watching:

Okay, so I mentioned this last week but recently, I’ve been watching Rise, a New Musical Drama TV Show on NBC that’s based on a book – Drama High. I love this show, and I’m kinda obsessed with it. The first season only consists of 10 episodes, and is 9 episodes in, the 10th episode airs on Tuesday. Next week will be the last episode, but I was hoping it would get a second season, it’s recently been cancelled though.

Stanton High School’s drama department is made up of a diverse group of people with various backgrounds. I would really recommend watching it if you haven’t already, It’s not perfect, and it does have it’s flaws, but It’s a great series. This is an important show, and means a lot to so many people, including myself. So, if you’ve never seen this show, I would really suggest checking it out. And if you like Spring Awakening, you’ll probably enjoy Rise. We’re trying to show NBC how much this show means to us, or a least try to get it picked up by a different Network, by using #RiseAgain #SaveRise on twitter. I just don’t want this show to end after only 10 episodes, this show doesn’t deserve that, and neither do the incredibly talented actors.

Even if you don’t watch rise, if you could watch it tomorrow because it’s the season finale and all the risers are doing the best they can to save the show and it would mean a lot.

The Sunday Post #41: Update & Some Exciting News – 6/05/2018

The Sunday PostWeekly Update

What Happened off the Blog:

I still  haven’t been that active on here lately, I’ve been really busy, but I promise I’ll get better at posting. I’ve been working on more listings for my Etsy Shop, So I’ll be listing more items soon, maybe within a month, once I get more all the materials I need. I’m really excited for these new Items.

Also, I wasn’t going to mention this yet as it’s still early stages, but I’m extremely excited about this, and I couldn’t wait, So here it is: I’m Writing a Book! I’m not going to say too much about it at the moment, like I said, early stages. But I’m really excited, and I’m having a lot of fun writing this. I will say that It’s going to be LGBT Contemporary. I have a playlist I’ve been listening to for this project while writing as well, which I might one day publicly release. I’ll keep you updated. If I had a book published, would you be interested in Reading it? Let me know in the comments!

Currently Reading:

I am “currently reading” a lot of books, so I’m not going to list them here, but if you’d like to check that out, the full list is on my latest Sunday Post HERE. And I can guarantee that it hasn’t change much. I’ll be posting a full list of my “Currently Reading” books soon, where I’ll talk about more about them and maybe finally get around to reading them.

What I Plan to Read Next:

There are A LOT of books I need to finish, so I’ll read whatever on that list next. I’ll just choose something at random from that pile. Also, 2 Days until Cast long Shadows eBook is released. I am so excited to finally read this one. This is the second novella for The Ghost of the Shadow Market by Cassandra Clare. This is one I’ve been waiting for, and most excited for.

What I’m Watching:

Recently, I’ve been watching Rise, It’s a New Musical Drama TV Show on NBC that’s based on a book – Drama High – which I’ve never read. I love this show, I’m kinda obsessed with it. The first season will consist of 10 episodes, and is 8 episodes in, the 9th episode airs on Tuesday,  I can’t watch the episodes until Wednesday though.

This is an English teacher – Lou – with a wife and three kids, the oldest of whom, Gordy, is a football player with a drinking problem. Despite having a lot on his personal plate, Lou decides in the first episode to express interest in taking over Stanton High School’s drama department. He immediately gets the job, mainly because the principal views the woman most likely to inherit the role as a “pain in the ass.” Tracey is in the middle of a production of Grease when Lou waltzes in and announces that, with exactly zero experience directing plays, he is about to take the job she’s been waiting for decades to assume, while she’ll be demoted to assistant director. Oh, and also they aren’t doing Grease anymore. They will be staging Spring Awakening, a challenging coming-of-age musical that deals child abuse, abortion, and homosexuality.

Rise also addresses social issues, including those related to class, religion, and, as previously noted, sexual orientation. In keeping with the themes of Spring Awakening, it focuses heavily on Simon, a gay student who struggles even more ferociously with his identity after he’s cast as Hänschen, a young man who has a romance, and a kissing scene, with another boy. Simon’s Catholic and conservative parents, particularly his father, take unsurprising issue with his participation in the show, creating a conflict that stretches throughout the season.

Stanton High School’s drama department is made up of a diverse group of people with various backgrounds. I would really recommend watching it if you haven’t already, It’s not perfect, and it does have it’s flaws, but It’s a great series. Its first season may be shaky, especially at first. But I genuinely hope it gets a second season.

The Sunday Post #37: Open Day at Adelaide Festival Centre – 11/02/2018 – 18/02/2018

The Sunday PostWeekly Update

The Sunday post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news – A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

What Happened off the Blog:

I attended the Adelaide Festival Centre Open Day. There’s been a lot of redevelopments happening in Adelaide and the Festival Centre has just reopened. We now have our own Walk of Fame. The Walk of Fame features names of stars who have graced the stages at Adelaide Festival Centre over the years.

Also, I’d like to take this blog post time to say sorry, I’ve been a bit absent lately in my blogging. I’ve been incredibly busy, I’m doing a Business Course. So, I’ve got tons of posts to work on and comments that I have yet to acknowledge. I’ll be hopefully getting around to all of that this week sometime, when I find the time. I will also have some reviews up this week.

I bought this Beauty the other day:

I’ve recently just finished reading the Percy Jackson series and while it didn’t live up to my expectations or the hype in my opinion, I still enjoyed it. At least enough to want to continue the series to see where this story goes. So, I bought the first book in the Heroes of Olympus series: The Lost Hero. The cover is so pretty and shiny.

 What I’m Watching:

Has anyone seen this new trailer for Season 2 of A Series of Unfortunate Events. Now this is where it’s gonna get REALLY dark! It looks amazing. This show is underrated and should be praised more often for its twists and interesting plot.

Also, has anyone seen the Movie The Talented Mr. Ripley? I watched it last night, and I really enjoyed it. It’s based on a Book by Patricia Highsmith. Let me know if you’ve read the Book or Seen the Movie.

If you’ve read Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart, you’ll probably notice a lot of similarities between them, it was inspired by The Talented Mr. Ripley. My Mum told me about this movie after I read out the Synopsis and some passages from Genuine Fraud to her. Now I’m Interested in reading the Ripliad Series, which consists of 5 books.

What Happened off the Blog:

This post is a bit late – today is Tuesday – but I didn’t have internet for a couple days and I’ve been Sick since Sunday night. I can’t keep up with posting and responding to comments at the moment. I’ve been doing nothing except procrastinating. I do have tons of time for reading now though, but I can’t seem to get up the energy to read anything, so  I’ve been mostly watching Netflix and reading Manga, which is a lot easier to read. I will try to respond to some comments, regularly update on here, and try to get some reviews up.

What Happened off the Blog:

I went to Burnie, Tasmania with my Mum to visit my Sister, as I hadn’t seen her in over 2 years! We departed Adelaide for Melbourne and then headed to Tasmania on the Spirit of Tasmania, that’s about 20 Hours of Travel. Spirit of Tasmania is a ship that you can drive your car onto, so that you can hop off when you arrive in Tasmania and continue driving along and exploring.

We travelled as foot passengers, so we just boarded. The Spirit of Tasmania does both day trips or overnight trips. On the way over, we travelled overnight and on the way back we travelled during the day. We saw a lot of places like Stanley, Reliquaire, Romaine Reserve, Stanley SeaQuarium, House if Anvers Chocolate Factory and more…

Each box comes with two Speculative Fiction titles, one in print and the other as an e-book; plus 3 – 5 pieces of bookish merchandise, which are really awesome and cute. All tailored around an awesome theme! I cannot wait to read this one!
