The sign up post is at the bottom of this post.

Again, Just like with the other rounds, there are 25 Challenges, although you don’t have to complete all of them, but you can if you want to, and it will take the form of a Bingo Board, all the have to do is complete at least one Bingo, but if you would like to try for a Blackout and complete the entire board, Good Luck. I always set to get a Blackout. So that’ll probably be my goal again this round. And there will be different option for those who aren’t too fond of Bingo Boards, so everyone can participate. This can be a easy or difficult as you would like it to be, you set the level, if you enjoy a challenge, or even if you prefer a more low-key readathon. So, here are the Challenges:

After reading said Manga/Volume during the readathon, you will be able to cross that square off of your BINGO sheet. Also, If you don’t want to do the Bingo Challenges, you don’t have to. You can still participate even if you decide that you don’t want to do those challenges. As long as you’re reading Manga and you’re having fun, it counts. The main goal is to just have fun. Anyway, If you’re not sure what to read for some of the challenges, you can check out Manga Madness Readathon Recommendations and Manga Series I’ve Read from Start to Finish Part 1 and Part 2, and I’ll have a third part out soon too!

Manga Madness Readathon Announcement + Sign Up (#MangaMadnessReadathon)

Manga Madness Readathonn

This is a bit of a late announcing, but Manga Madness Readathon is returning for its fourth round, this will run from November 5th-12th and you’ll be able to use #MangaMadnessReadathon to share your progress, TBR, and Updates, if you decide to join. Just like with the other rounds, there will be 25 Challenges, although you don’t have to complete all of them, but you can if you want to, and it will take the form of a Bingo Board. The Goal is to try to complete at least one Bingo throughout the week.

And just like the other rounds their will be 3 different options, as there are a lot of people who are not fond of Bingo Boards, and I’ve had a positive response from this, I will keep the different options this round. This will also be the Official Sign-Up again this round too, which you’ll find at the bottom of this post. So, here are the Challenges:

Read a Manga in a Genre of your Choice.png

These Challenges are the same as last round, and again this round there will be the challenge in which you can read a Manga by your favourite Manga Artist OR the hosts Favourite. Let me know if you would actually like there to be different challenges next round and I’ll come up with others ones.

If you don’t have a Favourite Manga Artist or you’ve read all of there work already, you can read my Favourite Manga Artist (which is still the same as last round, and will not be changing for a really long time): Jun Mochizuki

So, I’ll now let you know what you can read if you’d like to do this one, you have three options and I loved all of these; I highly recommend reading any of these. Jun Mochizuki is by far my Favourite Mangaka, and has been for a while since I first read Pandora Hearts:

Crimson Shell was Jun Mochizuki’s Debut and is a one-shot manga, so if you want something quick and simple to read, I’d suggest this one as it’s only one Volume.

Pandora Hearts was the first one by her that I read, and I absolutely loved it, this one has 24 Volumes, It’s also loosely based on Alice in Wonderland; It was inspired by it.

And The Case Study of Vanitas is her most recent ongoing series, that has only 3 volumes so far, this is set in Steampunk Victorian Paris and it’s about Vampires, for anybody interested in that.

This BINGO sheet will have a lot of different options for what your book should include – and after reading said book during the readathon, you will be able to cross that square off of your BINGO sheet. Also, If you don’t want to do the Bingo Challenges, you don’t have to. You can still participate even if you decide that you don’t want to do the challenges. As long as you’re reading Manga and you’re having fun, it counts; the whole point of this readathon is to just have fun, and read Manga. If you’re not sure what to read for some of the challenges, you can check out Manga Madness Readathon Recommendations and Manga Series I’ve Read from Start to Finish.

Obviously the point of the read-a-thon is to challenge yourself and read as much as you can, and there is no pressure to read a certain amount of books during it. Again, this round will also have three Different Options for those who aren’t fond of Bingo Board Challenges.

Option 1: Bingo Board Challenges
Option 2: Read anything you want
Option 3: Stick to one Series. For those of you who want to continue or Finish a series and not switch between different series!

Last round was the first I added the Instagram Photo Challenges, which is returning again this year. I loved seeing everybody’s photos last round. Each day there’ll be a different Photo Challenge. Here are the photo challenges:

_MangaMadnessReadathon Round 4Instagram Photo Challenge

  • If you are participating – tag #MangaMadnessReadathon and @MMReadathonin your Tweet about your post!
  • ReadAThon will last one week – you can come and go as you please.
  • Follow this blog and this Twitter for any official updates on the readAThon.

The Rules are simple:

  • Just read as much Manga as you can in a week.
  • Read 1 volume of manga for each challenge, unless number of volumes is indicated. Or Choose one of the Above Options.
  • You can read multiple volumes of manga in a series to have them count for multiple categories, but you can’t use the same volume of manga for multiple categories. It has to be a different Volume for every challenge

Sign-Up:

The readathon will mostly be taking place on Twitter but you can write a blog post about the readathon and your progress or post on Instagram. Anywhere you want to basically, just don’t forget to fill in the sign-up form so I can keep track of who’s participating and how many of you are participating! You can find the sign-up form here.

Chat With Me

I think after this round of #MangaMadnessReadathon, I will have completed enough Manga Series to do a part II of ‘Manga Series I’ve Read from Start to Finish’. I’ll probably have another one of those up after this round; a more updated version. Will you be taking part in this readathon? What do you think of this Readathon? Any suggestions or improvements you can think of? Feel free to let me know in the Comments, or on Twitter.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope to see around on social media using the #MangaMadnessReadathon so I can see all your posts and progress throughout the readathon!

Dewey’s 24 Hour #Readathon TBR

October TBR (6)

Dewey’s 24 Hours Readathon is back! This October it’s taking place at Saturday, October 20th! This time the start time is 8am EST, that’s 10:30PM in my time zone. You can check the starttime in your timezone here if you plan on joining in! Keep an eye out for their website and Twitter, as there will be reading sprints and more interactions throughout the Readathon, which are a lot of fun!

My TBR is always far too ambitious, but I tend to like having a lot of options as I get bored of reading the same book for too long. I get bored way too easily, which is why I struggle a lot with reading for so long. This time, I’m going to try to read whatever I’m already “Currently Reading”. So most of these books I’ve started. I’m just going to read what ever I feel in the mood for. I’ll have a books in each format – Physical, eBooks, and audiobooks.

My Readathon TBR:

If you would like to see my updates, what I end up reading, and what I thought of these books when I’ve read them, follow me on Twitter, or Instagram! I will be regularly updating on both of the accounts! I know I definitely won’t read all of these, but I will be picking from this pile of books!

An Ambitious October 2018 TBR (#Owntober, #Frightfall, #Victober, #ebookathon, #Witchathon, #Hallowreadathon)

October TBR

Today I’m going to be sharing my very late October TBR. It’s finally October; my favourite month, it’s the perfect time to pull out all my Horror/Thriller books. I am super excited for this Reading Month, as I am every October, there are tons of Halloween themed read-a-thons happening in October, I absolutely love all the Halloween Readathons that always happens this time of the year.

I am really excited for all these books, this is a rather ambitious TBR, so there is no way I’ll be able to read all of these, but I like having a lot of options, and these could change at any time. Anyway, let’s just get into the TBR. These are all the books and Readathons I’m considering Participating in this October:

Owntober (#Owntober)

(Monday, October 1st – Wednesday, October 31st)

This should surprise no one that this month I’m participating in another challenge by Kathy @ Books and Munches, this one is all about reading your own books, any books on your TBR that you own counts. Lately I’ve been doing really well at reading the physical books on my TBR, but I love this challenge, so I am again going to join in with this. I have a lot of Physical TBR books to get through still, below I’m just going to list some of the ones I would like to get through the most or soonest.

Frightfall (#Frightfall)

(Monday, October 1st – Wednesday, October 31st)

Michelle over at Seasons of Reading is hosting the Frightfall readathon from October 1-31st with a couple of mini readathons this weekend and that last couple of days of October. I have a large TBR pile to pull from so I’ll see what this next month brings! The only goal is to read at least one scary book.

Victober (#Victober)

(Monday, October 1st – Wednesday, October 31st)

I first participated in this amazing event last year and I was so excited for it, and I completely failed, I didn’t read a single book. If you don’t know what Victober is, it’s a month-long readathon hosted by Katie @ Books and ThingsAnge @ Beyond the Pages, Kate @ Kate Howe and Lucy @Lucythereader. The goal is to read Victorian literature. While you don’t have to read a certain number of books for this readathon, there are challenges for those interested, Although I won’t be doing the challenges.

eBookathon (#ebookathon)

(Sunday, October 14th – Saturday, October 20th)

A few days ago I came across this read-a-thon and decided to join in the fun. Mainly because I’ve been neglecting my ebooks. I have a lot of eARC’s that I need to get around to reading. So hopefully this read-a-thon will fix that. These are few that I would like to get to:

Witchathon (#Witchathon)

(Wednesday, October 24th – Wednesday, October 31st)

For the last week of october, the Witchathon readathon is taking place. This is another week of intense reading with challenges. Again I won’t be doing any of these challenges, I been very tired and stressed lately, so I just want to enjoy some reading time without the added stress of challenges. And as I don’t have many Books featuring witches or anything like that, I will only be reading 1 book for this readathon. Here are the challenges though:

1. A book that makes you happy
2. Read by candlelight
3. A spooky horror or thriller novel
4. A book with paranormal elements
5. A book that features your ethnic heritage
Ian’s Rose by Suzan Tisdale or The Highlander’s Iron Will by Amy Jarceki
6. Buddy read
7. The group read

Trials of Magic

Hallowreadathon (#Hallowreadathon)

(Wednesday, October 31st – Thursday, November 1st)

The Hallowreadathon is a yearly 48 hour readathon that takes place over Halloween and is hosted by Imogen @ Imogen’s Typewriter.

September 2018 Reading Wrap Up

October TBR.png

Well, would you look at that, it’s already October. What is happening to 2018? I, and everyone is saying this as this time of the month, can’t believe how fast time has been going. Let’s take a look at the endless, not-that-interesting month of September now, shall we. I didn’t read that much this month, as I’ve been really busy with my Etsy Shop, which you can check out HERE, I haven’t been blogging much lately either, but I promise in October I will be on here more, I’m planning soon Halloween Posts.

Also, It’s my 2 year Blogiversary in 4 DAYS, I really can’t believe in been 2 years since I started blogging, and probably the best 2 years ever, so thank you to everyone who has stuck around and reads my posts. I actually almost forgot about it, I’ve been quite bust lately that somehow it just slipped my mind, but I will be doing some posts relating to it and maybe a Q&A, If you have any questions for me, anything at all, Please feel free to ask me in the comment, I will write up a separate post answering all your questions. Or if you have any ideas or topics you would like me to talk about this month, or any ideas for Halloween. Thanks again! Now onto my wrap up, and this has already been quite long:

So in September I read a total of 6 Books. I read some really good books last month, even though I didn’t read too much, this was one of the better reading month, with the quality of the books that I did read. I’ve been lacking in reviews lately, but I will try to write up some of those soon. I’ll leave the link to any of these reviews. Also, I’ve finally read The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, I’d been wanting to read this for a while, even though I didn’t enjoy it as much as everyone else seems to; I didn’t really think it lived up to the hype, I enjoyed it enough to create a candle inspired by it (Click on the photo below to check out my shop):

The Night Circus Candle

Anyway, let’s get into the wrap up. I’ve also included my September Favourites at the end of this post. So stay tuned for that to find out which of these were my Favourites.

Sequel September (#SequelSeptember)

(Saturday, September 1st – Sunday, September 30th)

This challenge was hosted by Kathy @ Books and Munches. I only read 2 sequels this month. The only books I read for this were Hollow City & Library of Souls, the second and third books of the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar children series. I really enjoyed these ones, although Hollow City is my Favourite in this series, I’m also really looking forward to A Map of Days. Who else is anticipating Book 4?

OurLostLibrary (#OurLostLibrary, #LostAThon)

(Saturday, September 1st – Sunday, September 30th)

ContemporaryAThon (#Contemporaryathon)

(Monday, September 17th – Sunday, September 23rd)

Best of me

September 2018 TBR (#SequelSeptember, #OurLostLibrary, #ContemporaryAThon)

October TBR (1).png

Today I’m going to be sharing my September TBR. I didn’t do a TBR in August, which was probably good, Because I wouldn’t have Kept to it anyway, I’ve been in a weird reading mood, not that I actually keep to my TBR’s any other time. Anyway, Keep in mind that this isn’t all set in stone. I’m terrible at sticking to TBR’s. I can’t believe it’s already September! Where has all the time gone?!

Okay anyway, let’s get started on my TBR! I tried to keep this quite short, as I don’t really know how much I’ll be able to read, I’m going to be really busy this month. So, These are all the books I’m considering reading in September.

Sequel September (#SequelSeptember)

(Saturday, September 1st – Sunday, September 30th)

This challenge is hosted by Kathy @ Books and Munches and is all about reading Sequels, I very rarely commit to series. I generally prefer reading standalone books, but I very often read a first book in a series and then just… never follow up on the sequels.

While I do love reading series, I often find that I very quickly get bored of them. There are some notable exceptions where I was willing to read 5+ books in a series, but that’s not often.

But I love the challenges by Kathy, and I have quite a few Sequels on my shelves that I would finally like to get through. So this seems like the perfect time to read through some of those sequels. These are not all of the sequels I own, but these are the ones I’m interested in reading this month. I’m going to keep this quite small, as this month I won’t really have much time for reading.

OurLostLibrary (#OurLostLibrary, #LostAThon)

(Saturday, September 1st – Sunday, September 30th)

I will be doing the #OurLostLibrary Lost-A-Thon! This will be my first time Participating in this Readathon. OurLostLibrary is a readathon that uses the hashtag #LostAThon #OurLostLibrary. I am going to try to do one book per prompt. The challenges are fun and unique. I am really not expecting to finish them all but who knows! I guess we will see.

ContemporaryAThon (#Contemporaryathon)

(Monday, September 17th – Sunday, September 23rd)

So after a good while of planning here’s my ContemporaryAThon TBR that I’ll be *hopefully* reading. There are challenges, but I don’t think I’ll be completing them, I’m just going to use this time to read a few Contemporary books on my shelves that I want to get through. It is hosted by Chelsea from Chelseadolling reads, Julie from Pages and Pens, and Natasha from myreadingisodd.

These are Some of the books I’m hoping to read this month. So, we’ll see which ones I end up reading and enjoying. What about you guys? Have you read any of the books I mentioned above? July 2018 Reading Wrap Up

October TBR

Today I’m going to be sharing my July Wrap up and all the readathons I participated in. So this month I read a total of 39 Books. That’s a lot of books, but that was to make up for my lack of reading last month. I probably need a bit of a break from reading anyway. I read some really good books and Manga this month, I’ll try to write up the reviews for a lot of them in August. Anyway, let’s get into the wrap up. I’ve also included my July Favourite at the end of this post.

Tome Topple (#TomeTopple)

(Friday, June 29th – Thursday, July 12th)

This Round started on June 29th and ended July 12th. Hosted by Sam @ Thoughts on Tomes on YouTube. You can find the post I did for my Tome Topple TBR HERE. Here are the books I read, and I will be doing reviews for them later on.

I aimed to complete most of the challenges, and I have succeeded in doing that. The only challenge I didn’t complete was to Buddy Read a Tome.

Sci-Fi July (#SciFiJulyBM)

(Sunday, July 1st – Tuesday, July 31st)

This challenge was hosted by Kathy @ Books and Munches and is all about reading Sci-Fi, I don’t usually read Sci-fi books, but I had a few that I wanted to read. I only read one Science Fiction book this month, but that’s still more than I usually read.

In the Present Tense

Alphabethon (#Alphabethon)

(Sunday, July 1st – Tuesday, July 31st)

This was the Summer Round of Alphabethon, which consisted of reading 26 books that start with a letter of the alphabet and you have to read in alphabetical order. So I read 10 Books and managed to read up to Letter K.

Road Trip Readathon (#RoadTripReadathon)

(Sunday, July 1st – Tuesday, July 31st)

This is a month long ReadAThon based on taking a road trip and I completely failed this one, I didn’t read a single book for this, unless the count the half a book I actually read. I was going to read my way through part of Europe, starting in Ireland and ending in Finland. I love this idea, so in August I’m going to unofficially complete this, as I would like to read more books in set in other locations anyway.

Astrothon (#Astrothon)

(Sunday, July 1st – Sunday, July 8th)

This one is an 8 day long ReadAThon that has reading challenges! The goal is to finish 4 books and you’re allowed to use 1 book for 2 challenges. I completed 8 Challenges and Read 7 Books in total.

Reading challenges:

Sun: Finish a book in 24 hours- One Piece Volume 67, 68, 69 by Eiichiro Oda
Mercury: A book with an important message – Boy Erased by Garrard Conley
Venus: A book by a female author – The Life of Charlotte Bronte by Elizabeth Gaskell
Earth: A book you see yourself represented in
Mars: A book about someone/something lost – As dead as it gets by Katie Alender
Jupiter: A book you can finish in one sitting – One Piece Volume 70, 71, 72 by Eiichiro Oda
Saturn: A book with an eye-catching cover
Uranus: a character with a cold demeanour
Neptune: A book with blue on the cover – Eragon by Christopher Paolini
Pluto: A book written in a non-traditional format – Rumble by Ellen Hopkins
Moon: A book in a series – Eragon by Christopher Paolini

BecauseDragonsRAT (#BecauseDragonRAT)

(Sunday, July 1st – Saturday, July 7th)

This read is all about reading Fantasy Books, For this readathon I read 4 Books. Fantasy is one of my favourite genres, but this month I haven’t felt in the mood for reading much fantasy. So I think In august I’ll probably try to steer clear from much a bit.

Read Your Face Off 24 Hour Readathon (#ReadYourFaceOff )

(Saturday, July 14th – Sunday, July 15th)

Read You Face Off is a Goodreads group that does monthly reads and discussions. However, they also do 24 Hour ReadAThons as well. There are no rules, just read as much as you can in 24 hours! So for this one I only read 1 book.

images (3)

October TBR (2)

Today I’m going to be sharing my July TBR. Keep in mind that this isn’t all set in stone. I’m terrible at sticking to TBR’s, especially recently. How is it already July?! Where has all the time gone?! I don’t even feel like I’ve read that many books this year, which is strange because I’ve already read 122 books this years and I’m only 1 book behind my Goodreads Reading Challenge of 250. Okay anyway, let’s get started on my TBR! I’m also Participating in Tome Topple, check out my TBR HERE. I’m not sure I’ll read them all, but these are all the books I’m considering reading this month.

Sci-Fi July (#SciFiJulyBM)

(Sunday, July 1st – Tuesday, July 31st)

This challenge is hosted by Kathy @ Books and Munches and is all about reading Sci-Fi, I actually don’t usually read Sci-fi books, I don’t even like the genre that much, but I have a few sci-fi books that I would like to read, and seeing as last month I failed all the challenges, including the scifi one, I thought I would attempt this again.

Alphabethon (#Alphabethon)

(Sunday, July 1st – Tuesday, July 31st)

Alphabethon is doing a summer round, which consists in reading 26 books that start with a letter of the alphabet and you have to read in alphabetical order. And you can’t pass letters ahead, you have to read in order. So I compiled a list of the books I want to read for this round, I had some difficulty with some letters but eventually, I got them all. I also have chosen out some Alternatives for some of them.

I am going to read my way through part of Europe, starting in Ireland and ending in Finland. For each of these Countries I have a few options to choose from depending on my mood, I’ll list them all below.

TBR Jar Readathon (#TBRJarRAT)

(Sunday, July 1st – Sunday, July 8th)

So, this ReadAThon is dedicated to you’re TBR Jar. You put the names of books in a Jar and pull one out, read & repeat until the ReadAThon ends. You can put all the books on your TBR into the jar, you can put the books you are anticipating & really want to read in the jar, if you are doing another reading challenge for the month you can put the names of all of those books in the jar. I actually do have a TBR Jar – Although I don’t use it much as I wish I did – with all the titles of the books from my shelves + eARC’s that I’ve received to review. So I’m not going to put a TBR here for this one, but If you’re interesting to know what I’ll be reading, follow me on Twitter, as I’ll probably be doing some updates on there.

Read-EH-thon (#ReadEHthon)

(Sunday, July 1st – Sunday, July 8th)

I recently found out about the Read-EH-thon that’s happening between the 1st July and the 8th July. This is a readathon hosted by BooksandlalaSaidthestoryMyreadingisodd, Yerabooknerdzoe&Squibblesread that was created to influence readers to pick up more books written by Canadian Authors and that feature Canadian settings and stories! You do NOT need to be Canadian to participate in this readathon! I will be honest – I just could not find a book by a  Canadian author on my shelves and I probably won’t be completing the challenges.

There are five challenges:

• Read a book with red on the cover
• Read a book by a Canadian woman
• Read a book with “E” and “H” in the title
• Read a book by an indigenous author
• Read a book set in a province you’ve never visited

Anyway, here is my TBR:

Dewey’s 24 Hour ReadAThon (#Readathon, #ReverseReadathon)

(Saturday, July 28th – Sunday, July 29th)

This month seems to be full of 24 hour readathon, so I’m going to have a lot of fun with all these. I’m going to add my TBR to these two readathons here a bit closer to the dates.

Update: These are some of the books I would like to read! I know I won’t be able to read all these during this readathon but I’m going to see how many I can get through; I’m hoping to read 10 (very short) books during Dewey’s. This is not the full list, I don’t really know what I’ll end up reading, as I’m a mood reader, but any of the books that I do read will very likely be on this TBR somewhere, including from Past Readathons, if I didn’t end up reading them for those ones, I’ll be trying to read them for this readathon.

Chat With Me
