April 2018 Reading Wrap Up (#ApThrill, #Unslumpathon, #AYEARATHON, #OWLsReadathon2018, #Prideathon)

October TBR (11)

This month I read some good books. Although, I didn’t read as much as I hoped, I’m still quite happy with the amount I managed to read. I did a lot of reading at the beginning of the month and not that much for the rest of the month. But I participated in Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon, which got me back into the groove of reading. Check out my Wrap up for that HERE.

So, today I’ll be going through all the book that I read this month, both Read-a-thon Reads and Non-read-a-thon Reads. I more or less enjoyed a lot of these books that I read recently, though of course there were some disappointments. Also, I’m glad I got around to reading some of these books! This Month I read a total of 12 Books. You can check out my TBR HERE

And now, on to my April 2018 Wrap-Up!

ApTHRILL (#ApTHRILL)

(Sunday, April 1st – Monday, April 30th)

ApTHRILL

This was a month long challenge hosted by Kathy @ Books and Munches, and is dedicated to thrillers, horrors and suspense novels! I love the thriller Genre, but It’s one of the genres I read the least of. And I still didn’t read hardly any thriller this one. I only read one. Although, I didn’t read that much this month, so here’s what I read for this challenge:

OWL’s Readathon (#OWLsReadathon2018)

(Monday, April 2nd – Sunday, April 29th)

Starting from April 2nd through the 29th, this is a challenge based on the Harry Potter Series and I was originally trying to attempt to sit all 12 exams! I’m pretty sure I did not achieve that. So, let’s see how I did:

  • Ancient Runes: A Book with a Symbol on the Cover – Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
  • Arithmancy: Read a book with a Number on the cover or in the Title – Lot No. 249 by Arthur Conan Doyle
  • Astronomy: Read a Science Fiction Novel
  • Care of Magical Creatures: Read a Book that Includes Magical Creatures – The Mortal Instruments Volume 1 Graphic Novel
  • Charms: Read a Fantasy Book – The Key to Rondo by Emily Rodda
  • Defense Against the Dark Arts: Book about/featuring Secret Societies/Clubs
  • Divination: Read a book featuring prophecies – Yellow Brick War by Danielle Paige
  • Herbology: Read a book with a nature related word in the title
  • History of Magic: Read a Historical Fiction – All Out: The No-Longer-Secret Stories of Queer Teens Throughout the Ages
  • Muggle Studies: Read a muggle non-fiction book – A Father’s Story by Lionel Dahmer
  • Potions: Read a book about Alchemy
  • Transfiguration: A book with a cat on the cover

So I completed 7/12 of these. That’s still really good, I quite happy with that. This month, I took a bit of a break from reading, because I decided that I needed to put less pressure on myself about reading a certain amount of books each month. So, considering that I still did really well with this.

I’ll still be posting my Book Haul/TBR Revisit though. But I am trying to put less pressure on myself when it comes to reading and more so Mood Reading, I’m more of mood reader anyway and don’t usually stick to TBR’s.
