Review Policy

Review Policy

Due to the recent high volume of requests I will only be replying to those emails with books I am interested in reviewing at this time. I will try to get back to you in 72 hours, though you may not hear a response from me at all.

If you are an Author, Publisher, or Publicist who would like me to Review your book(s), I am Accepting books (in any age group) for Review. Please read over my review policy before contacting me. Below is my book review policy including the genre I prefer and the genres that I will not read. Please respect my restrictions. You can Contact me at: Please keep in mind that I am located in Australia if you want to send me a physical copy.

My Reviews Will Contain the following:

  • Book Cover
  • Synopsis
  • Genre
  • Publication Details
  • Format
  • Page/ Word Count
  • An Honest and Critical Review
  • An Honest Rating out of 5
  • Links to where the book can be found/purchased

Any physical ARCs I decide to unhaul are donated to a local charity/library or given to a local community book exchange unless the author/publisher requests otherwise. None are sold or traded.

I try to avoid spoilers in all my reviews My reviews contain my thoughts, feelings and emotions about the plot, characters and overall take on what I have read.  Everyone has their own style of how they write reviews, but I of course love to add snippets from the book (you can let me know if you would rather me not add this). My TBR is never ending, and I hate turning down review requests, but depending on the time frame given, time constraints, and my mood at the time, it is an unfortunate possibility – but it is not something I enjoy doing.

Trigger Warnings & Content Warnings

As someone with anxiety, depression and a tendency to self harm, TW and CW are very helpful. I’m still not in the right frame of mind to read books that include this so I may need the warning beforehand to decide if your book is the right choice for me. I don’t want to read something that could potentially cause a relapse. That just wouldn’t be very fun for me. Trigger warnings are not spoilers. I try to include trigger warnings and content warnings within my review whenever possible.

Note: I do not accept unsolicited requests for reviews. Do not email me a digital copy of your book if we have not already corresponded through email using the steps mentioned above.

My acceptance of your book does not guarantee a review. It simply means I am agreeing to consider it for review.

I do my best to accept only books that I think I will enjoy. However, I honestly review every book that I read, and my acceptance of a review copy does not guarantee a positive review. In cases where I did not enjoy a book as much as I thought I would, I always do my best to describe my reasons in such a way that my readers can draw their own conclusions about whether or not the book would be a good fit for them.

Representation/Own Voices

I believe strongly in using my platform to uplift the voices of marginalized authors, particularly if they are writing Own Voices content. However, I will never force authors to disclose their identities. I love reading diversely and try to promote authors of color as much as I can as a white reader, because spreading these stories of underrepresented identities is hugely important. If your request includes any representation that I am not own voices for, I cannot and will not speak on how well that representation is written, but I definitely will feature the represented identities clearly in my review post.

I am own voices for and can review the following:

  • Queer (pansexual & nonbinary)
  • Anxiety/Depression

When I do review, I post them here on the blog, as well as on goodreads, and sometimes on Amazon. Not all of my reviews are positive but they are all completely honest.  Every review I write is my own honest opinion about the book.

All of my reviews will be my honest opinion and it is quite possibly that I won’t enjoy your book and my review will be clear of that. Please understand that I will not write a glowing review just because you sent me the book. If you are not okay with the fact that a negative review could be written, I might not be a good fit to send a review request to. By sending a review request to me, you are acknowledging that a review may be negative.

Review Time:

I will do my best to have the review published within one to three months upon receiving the book, though it may occasionally take a bit longer. This is an estimate, not a guarantee.

Also,  I can’t guarantee how quickly reviews will be posted but I do try and post them the month of their release, if not the exact date. I will guarantee that most books I receive will be reviewed. I will make every effort to read books in order to review them around publication date or when requested, but make no concrete guarantees.

I try to read and review books quickly. I cannot always guarantee the exact date my review will be published. However, if it is an ARC, I will try to have the review up the month the book is being released. If the book is already out it will take me a bit longer to get the review up. I will send you a link when the review is on the blog.

Please note: I work part time. I cannot, always, guarantee that I will have time to read and review your book. In that case, I will tell you so.

I appreciate your taking the time to check out my blog, and read through my review Policy. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have, or if you would like your book reviewed.

Thank You.
