This is a long awaited post! I’ve been meaning to post this for awhile, but I’ve been quite busy. So Anyway, my Birthday was on March 21st, I turned 20, which is pretty cool but kind of weird too, I thought it would be nice to show you guys what I did on my birthday and what I got, because it’s quite nice (in my opinion) to see personal posts on book blogs as well! And to celebrate I decided to buy more books, because what else does a bibliophile do for their birthday?!
So, this year my Mum took me out shopping instead of buying me presents and I got to choose out anything I wanted, within a reasonable budget of course. So, I woke up at 9:00. Mum and I went to ‘The Pear’ for a Coffee, and a Fig and Nut Bar, this is a little Neighbourhood Café in Adelaide.
Then we went into the city, where the shopping commenced, first up was ‘Typo’, which has a range of Gifts, Stationery, Art, Craft, Cards, Decorations, Lighting and more. So, from there I just got a Planner and a Good Vibes Ahead Drink Bottle. I actually really love Planners, journals, and the like, since I started blogging. LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS!
and then next up was Jay Jays, where I got way too many clothes that I don’t need, and most of the clothes were Harry Potter Related. I just couldn’t help myself, I don’t go clothes shopping too often!
I saved the best for last, the Books! So the next store we went into was Read e Book, this is a bookstore that sells discount books. I only got one book from here, there weren’t too many books that I wanted or was interested in from this place. So I got Fathomless by Jackson Pearce, this is the third book in the Fairy-tale Retellings series.
And Next up was Dymocks, this is, by default, the best bookstore in Adelaide, only because there aren’t too many bookstores here. But they have a wide variety of books, that are sometimes very overpriced. So, I chose out four books from there – The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater, The Mortal Instruments Graphic Novel Volume 1, De Profundis and other writing by Oscar Wilde, and The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan. I also got a booklovers Bookmark (that matches the cup that I’ve got). So these are the Books:
My mum still had to go the Work, but afterwards we made Pizza for Dinner, It was SO good! I don’t get to eat pizza too often, as Pizza places usually don’t sell Gluten or Lactose Free (or Vegan) Options. So we sometimes make our own pizza at home, but not very often. Then to finish off we Baked a Gluten & Dairy free Red Velvet Cake, which turned out pretty well.
So, that’s it for this post! I love my presents so much (considering I was able to pick everything out myself) and I’m so excited read my new books – I hope I’ll enjoy them! I went back to the book shop as my mum bought a couple other books for me for Easter, which you’ll see in my Book Haul that should be up hopefully tomorrow! I had an absolutely wonderful birthday! Have you guys read any of the books I received today?
