I love Christmas songs so much. I listen to them all December. They also remind me of my childhood, and how excited I would get when my favourites would come on. I hope you’ll join in on the fun. If you would like to participate, make sure to link yours up below so I can check it out. I can’t wait to see which books you choose.
“All I Want for Christmas Is You”
Name your favourite bookish couple.
Mark & Kieran from The Dark Artifices
“I’ll Be Home for Christmas”
Name a book where a character is away from home (school, vacation, etc.).
Anna & the French Kiss. Anna is away from home studying in Paris. I actually didn’t like this book that much, it was the first book that came to mind. I loved the setting because I’ve never been there!
“Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”
Name your favourite “little” book (children’s book, short story, novella, etc.).
Some Desperado by Joe Abercrombie is a short story that appeared in the Dangerous Women anthology and is about a woman on the run from bounty hunters during her outlaw days.
“Santa Claus is Coming to Town“
What book(s) do you hope Santa brings you this year?
There are too many to name, but I would love The Illustrated Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them & A History of Magicto show up.
“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”
Which book turned your nose red? (made you cry)
Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
“The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”
What’s your favourite book to read during the holidays? (re-read? or a specific genre?)
I don’t really have any specific books I read during the Holidays, but I usually re-read The Spiderwick Chronicles, I read this series for the first time in 2015, after receiving the box set for Christmas, and I just re-read it again this December. I also try to read a least one Christmas book around this time as well.
“We Three Kings”
What’s your favourite trilogy?
I’m not so great with series. Any kind of series. But The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare is amazing, and is my favourite. There are not too many trilogies that I’ve actually Completed.
“Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow”:
Which character would you not mind being snowed in with?
I can only pick one character!? I don’t think I can choose just one.
Which book seriously let you down?
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff. This book just did not work for me. Here’s my Review.
Which upcoming release are you dreaming of?
The Queen of Air & Darkness by Cassandra Clare. I cannot WAIT for this one. It’s not releasing until December 2018 but I simply cannot wait!
“You’re A Mean One, Mr Grinch”
Name a villainous character you couldn’t help but love.
For this I would have to say Sebastian from The Mortal Instruments series. He is fun to read about, and he’s a very interesting character, I just love his whole character. In case some of you don’t know, I love anti-heroes and complex characters. There is just so much to their characters, a lot more to explore and not at all predictable. It gives the story more depth and makes it much more interesting.
His character is so complex that I was so amazed at how easily his character spoke to me. He made me want to keep reading and reading more about him that I probably would have read a series focused on him.
“Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer”
Name a character that overcomes major obstacles and learns to believe in themselves.
There are many characters like that. If I had to choose though. Lief from Deltora Quest by Emily Rodda. He’s the main character of the series. On his sixteenth birthday it is revealed to him that he must begin a dangerous quest to find the lost gems of the Belt of Deltora.
“Frosty The Snowman”
A book which just melts your heart.
Made of Stars by Kelley York. The romance and emotion in this book just makes my heart melt.
A book that takes place somewhere other than your home country.
Basically every book ever. I live in Australia and not many books seem to take place here. But for the sake of answering this Question, I’m going to say The Case Study of Vanitas by Jun Mochizuki. This is a Manga Series, that takes place in Paris.
“Baby It’s Cold Outside”
Which book that you didn’t like would you sacrifice to a fire to keep yourself warm
Alright, so that’s it for these Christmas songs tags. I won’t tag anyone in this, but you can do it either of these, if you want to. Have you read any of these books? Done this tag, or any other Christmas or holiday tags? Leave a link in the comments and I’ll drop by, or Comment below you’re answers to some of these Questions.
