TBR Jar Wednesday – August – My Reading Progress – London by Edward Rutherfurd #TBRJW

blikLast Week I announced London by Edward Rutherfurd as the Winner for this Month’s TBR Jar Wednesday, as this is a huge book (1299 Pages), this week Instead of doing a review, I’ll be doing an Update post to update everyone on my Progress & Thoughts so far.

So far I’ve only read 86 Pages,  I read a bit of this during Tome Topple but I’ve been reading it at a slow pace due to the size being quite intimidating. I’m enjoying it so far, London traces the history of a single location throughout its history by examining the interlinked lives of several families. Although linked, each chapter of London can be read as a novella on its own. Each chapter of London has a main plot or story following a different time period or Generation.

He includes several different maps at the beginning which show London in different periods in its history and I found it fascinating to see how the city changed and expanded throughout the years. He also includes a very helpful family tree which really comes in handy when you’re trying to keep up with all the families and their intertwining story lines throughout the novel.

That’s all for this week, I was hoping to finish reading this book next week but that probably wont happen. So I’ll most likely do another update post next week like this one and hopefully by that stage I would be a lot further into this book. Check back next week to see my progress in a week. Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a great day and Happy Reading!
