Top Ten Tuesday #3 | Authors I have met/want to meet

This is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where each week bloggers share a list of books for the prompt given. Today’s suggested topic is:

Top Ten Authors I’m Dying To Meet / Ten Authors I Can’t Believe I’ve Met  (some other “meeting authors” type spin you want to do)

I have decided to list both because I really loved both versions of this topic! Here are the top 5 authors that I have already met as well as the top 5 authors that I would like to meet. Living in Australia I haven’t gotten much of a chance to meet authors. I haven’t  met many authors.

Top 5 Authors I have met

Cassandra Clare & Holly Black

(The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices, The Dark Artifices)
(Magisterium, The Darkest Part of the Forest, The Coldest Girl of Coldtown)

I met Cassandra Clare & Holly Black at the Brisbane Writers Festival. I am a huge Mortal Instruments fan, so this was a surreal moment for me. It was also a pleasure meeting Holly Black.  They were the first authors I ever met. This day was pretty special for me.

Craig Silvey

(Japer Jones)

I went to the Jasper Jones movie preview, which  was followed by an in-cinema Q&A with the Director and author, then a book signing.

Nicholas & Alison Lockel

(Zarkora Series)

I met Nicholas and Alison at Supernova last year, I’d actually never heard of them before. They were selling and Signing their Zarkora Series. The first book was only $5, so I couldn’t resist. I Still haven’t read it though.

Top 5 Authors I’d love to Meet

Lindsay Cummings

(The Murder Complex)

I will admit I’ve never actually read any of her books. I started reading The Murder Complex a while ago and I’m yet to finish it but I would love to meet her!

Emily Rodda

(Deltora Quest, Teen Power inc, Fairy Realm, Rondo, The Three Doors)

I grew up with her books – of course I want to meet her! I grew up reading The Deltora Quest Series, and am absolutely in love with them.

Ellen Hopkins

(Crank, Impulse, Burned, Tricks, Tilt, Identical, The You I’ve Never Known)

Words cannot describe how much I Love her books and her writing. I wouldn’t know what to say to be honest but it’d be great just to meet her.

Maggie Stiefvater

(Shiver, The Raven Cycle)

I love her Raven Cycle series, and I think she’s ridiculously talented. I have actually only read The Raven Boys by her, but that was a work of art and I have heard so much more about her other books.

Chris Colfer

(The Land of Stories)

I Love The Land of Stories. Now I need to meet the author who wrote these amazing books.

Bonus: The Brontë sisters

(Jane Eyre, Shirley, Villette, The Professor)
(Agnes Grey, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall)
(Wuthering Heights)

I couldn’t choose which Brontë sister to pick, so I’ve gone for all three. What a talented family!

And there you have it! Some of the authors that I would most love to meet as well as amazing authors that I have already met! What about you? Who would you meet if you could? Which authors have you met?! Do we have any in common? Who would you like to meet? Let’s discuss! Leave a link to your own post in the comments!

Thank you for reading!

  2. I don’t get a chance to meet many authors either, even though I live in the U.S. It’s just not happened, sad day.
